·         What did you learn that you did not know before about digital citizenship?

·         Digital citizenship is with you the rest of your life.  Where you go, how you represent yourself is tracked for everyone to see.  What I did not realize was that there were so many components of digital citizenship.

·         What did you find interesting, important, unimportant?

·         Was there anything you read, heard, watched that you disagreed with?

·         I think it is fascinating that there is so much “data" on the average joe.  Who knew that you might be that interesting. When the internet became an integral part of my life was while living overseas.  It was a great way to stay “connected” to the life back in the states and to of course shop.  I can’t say I disagreed with any of the knowledge I gained.

·         Do you think it is important to teach digital citizenship skills to students even if you are just working on the computers in your class for a quick lesson?

·         Yes, I think at any opportunity a good reminder of the rules is necessary.  To me, it’s like part of the rules of the classroom. If there is going to be exposure you have to know what the expectations are.

·         Were you surprised at your own personal digital footprint?

·         No, I actually learned a while ago to google myself frequently just to see what might come up.  I am heavily reliant on the technology available to me, and at times wish I could step away and not have to be as dependent on the instant gratification it allows.

·         Who's job is it to teach digital citizenship skills and when should they be taught?

·         Personally, I think its everyone’s job to express digital citizenship and it’s importance.  I think back to when I was in high school and all of the “Girls Gone Wild” videos were coming out.  People were looking to expose individuals and were making a lot of money doing so.  Now, we have to remember that we have some control over how we want to be conveyed to the world. It only takes a reminder from all aspects of your life to be a good digital citizen!
